Sometimes the dark or the unknown is a frightening territory.  And sometimes it's a rich adventure.  What makes the difference?

For this new Fox, intention and curiosity set out on a quest.  Fox brings its prayerful manifesto, written on a home-shaped sail, to catch the Spirit's inspiration.  Yet the unknown, mystery, or shadow seems to lead the way....  The Fox is not in charge but fully engaged and focused, ready and responsive.

Like Fox, I want to bring these qualities with me this winter.  Waves of grief and change keep tossing my family, friends, the world, and me.  I'll admit I've often felt swamped this fall.  I need all the reminders I can find to help me return (again and again!) to wondering, listening, engaging the moment.  Last month I watched for beauty and let it carry me through difficult times.  This month, I'm leaning on curiosity. 

Alongside the heartbreak of COVID19 and food lines, this Fox invites us to follow the loss through the dark, wondering and imagining about the horizon.  Our boats float one by one but our future asks us to sail together without turning away from the challenges we face.  In this sacred season, the Light will be born in the darkness, born out of the mystery of what we cannot know and cannot solve alone.

I'm right here sailing with you.  The ocean holds our grief.  This sacred season upholds our curious voyage.
