Although I do try to arrive with curiosity whenever I pull a card, I didn't expect to see "Explore" come out of my deck today! Much more fitting for last week-- on our overdue vacation-- when Hol and I found snow on some beautiful new trails. But this week? How does exploring relate to returning home, or to holiday traditions?

It's an awkward dissonance... and I actually LOVE that about spiritual practice. The pause I take to ask, "What? How does that make sense?" opens me up to creative questions. (Usually, I haven't noticed my assumptions!)

Do I really want to make tea, or step outside?

Can I keep exploring, here at home, by resting and integrating what I discovered on our journey?

I'd like to make a few more experiments with simplicity this holiday season. Which ones sound fun to try?
